Well another work week is winding down, I have presented two online classes this week and hopefully have helped some people become more capable virtual infrastructure managers... at least I am working with a technology that I feel strongly positive about. It holds potential to make data centers more efficient (dare I say it ... greener).

Maybe it is the overall state of things, the economy, world politics, the fact that I am slowly slipping to the far end of middle age ... I don't know but winter has seemed determined to hang on here in Michigan as long as possible and has no interest in a gracefull exit but today on the way home in my neighborhood I heard the first true signs that Winter is losing its grip... Spring peepers were singing their hearts out!!! Picture me driving down my street with the car windows down and a HUGE SMILE on my face, sometimes life is just good!

Starting a fresh batch

As a home brewer I am always looking for a recipes for new and interesting beer styles, as a blogger I find a simular challenge, I mean what warrants taking time to compose and post...
Our current times offer many areas for comment, ranting and raving, the real trick is to bind something about which you can actually make a contribution. I think my brewers mind is starting to focus in on a simple classic brew, documenting the life and times of a fairly average aging baby boomer trying to make his way in coporate culture while remembering his hippy roots and ideals, I mean peace love and rock-n-roll had promise but somewhere making a buck, having a 401K and security got in the way. To some degree I think this is the root of many of today's problems, simply put short term gains and greed seem to have replaced laying sound foudations on which to build the future. We really need to get back to the god head! I want to explore the possibilities...

I don't pretend to think anything I have to say is really important in the grand scheme of things but as a life long technologist I simply can't resist becoming part of the blog-o-sphere. If you find humor or entertainment in any of my postings I will be happy, if I offend know it was not meant to on a personal level.

When I take the time to put my thoughts to paper (or in this case to blog) I am rewarded with a sense of clarification and deeper understanding. A thought in mind may seem logical and well defined but once you read it from the page the holes in logic seem to jump from the page. I am not really sure exactly where this adventure will lead but all trips begin with a single step, or in this case a posting!

Stay tuned!
